For a girl.

It is pronounced "ab-e'-ka"

My wife thinks I'm crazy and she thinks the name is horrible.

Your opinion?

  1. I'm sorry, but unless the baby's initials would be A.B.C., I see no logical reason to put your child through such torture!

  2. No, its not pronounced ab-e-ka, its the first three letters of the american alphabet. If it were the made up name Abeka, it would be spelled Abeka. Quit trying to be funny. Its not working.

  3. I don't think your daughter will thank you for it.

  4. Nooo thats really dumb i think.

    Your wife is right.

  5. Sounds ok

If your willing to have somewhat like 9 more kids to name them the rest of the alphabets.

  6. I like the sound of the name ab-e-ka. Is that an accent

    over the e?

However, if you use the letters "Abc" almost everyone will be confused and think the name sounds like A-B-C.

If you really want that name for your daughter, I think you would have to SPELL the name as Abeka.

Of course, some folks will still be confused and say "Abeka? Oh, that reminds me of A-B-C."  :-)

So, in conclusion, there is no solution that is not confusing.

I hope my confusion clarifies your dilemma.

  7. if you like that then try spelling it:

    ahbeka

    abeca

    abeckah

or somthing like that. how about "rebecca"? its very similar.

    goodluck(:

  8. Your wife is right

How about having three children, the first, name start with an A, the second b and the third c

You can have your ABC and your children will have names people will be able to say

If I saw abc, I would say, ABC, not abeka

  9. I think its a little strange but cute at the same time.

  10. if i saw that i would think who the h**l names their kid A-B-C ? give your baby a real name please.

  11. Your wife is right.

  12. I agree with your wife. You're crazy and that name is horrible. Name her Abigail and you can call her Abc as a nickname.

  13. Any time you have to tell everyone how to pronounce a name, it's horrible. (Exceptions made for names from a different culture, of course).

Why do you want to call your child this? More importantly, how do you think an adult with this name would feel?

  14. Your wife is right. Women are always right. Abc is weird, people wouldn't know how to say it. If you want Abeka so bad try Rebecca. It sounds the same and ISN"T WEIRD>

  15. yeah I think you're a little crazy.I think a better idea would be to give her those initials like you could name her Abigail Brenn Claire and call her Abc

  16. No matter how you think it can be pronounced it still looks like what it does and just think when she is 15 and in school and all the boys are looking and thinking "Easy as Abc". How would proud papa feel then?

  17. Yeah, you're crazy. It looks like it's pronounced (AH-Bee-cee)

Leave the naming to your wife.

    ~Julie

  18. It is horrible. Don't do that to your child, she will see nothing but teasing her whole life. You as her father shouldn't want that put upon her. There are ways to have unique names without bringing the world down on your child. Believe me kids are cruel.

  19. I think your wife is right. I'm all for unusual names, but this one is a little too strange. The poor child will be teased to no end all through her life. How about Phoenix Grace or Teal Alexis?

  20. Your crazy

Your daughter will hate you for it!

  21. YOU ARE CRAZY, I have two things to say

    1 - GET SOME HELP

    2 - I Recommend A Name Like Emily

  22. Terrible but thats just my opinion

  23. Why not just name her "Danielle"?  You can pronounce it "ab-e'-ka" all you like and everyone else can pronounce it "dan-yelle".

  24. I'm sorry, but "Abc" would not be pronounced "ab-e'-ka"

  25. You know that if your wife hates it, it ain't happening, lol. I'm with your wife on this.

  26. Terrible name

  27. It doesn't look like it sounds like Ab-e-ka it looks like it sounds A-B-C

    Not a good option.

  28. I agree with your wife. And you have to think about your child...and the life she is going to live. People are cruel, and make fun of people. She'll go through school and no one will be able to pro nounce her name.

  29. I agree with your wife.

Pretty ridiculous name, there are cute individual names then theres plain stupid really.

Do you want your kid to be nick named "DEF" (Pronounced "Dee Eee Eff")? She will not appreciate being called "Abc" i know i would not, i would legally change it!

  30. Give the kid a normal name.

  31. I agree with wife!!!!! How about Abigail? It's similar-sounding.
