Am I doing enough to lose some weight?

Hiya! Last year I lost 30lbs and I have now put 8 back on which I want to lose. My diet was awful before, just eating 5 chocolate bars in place of dinner etc. So this is what I ate today:

Breakfast: multi-grain cornflakes with skimmed milk

Snack: a peach

Lunch: Small portion of veggie stew and mash potato

Snack: a nectarine

Dinner: Chicken breast with carrots, cauliflower, runner beans

Snack : Mango

I did have a few wine gums aswell (oops!)

I also went to town today, so did a bit of walking!!

Is this enough to help me shift those few lbs? Any helpful comments please?

  1. go for a run every night. you can choose your route, your pace and your time etc.  however i would advise that you should be sweating and a bit tired at the end of your run to make sure your burning calories, 1/2 hour is a good run.

if you don't want to do that you you could buy at cheap treadmill at argos. you can put it in front of the TV and watch your favourite program while you exercise.

swimming is also a good way of burning fat. join your local leisure centre and give it a shot

    hope this helps

  2. Good base, but you need more protein.  One chicken breast and some beans, isn't enough.  Maybe add an egg or two with breakfast.  You also need some healthy fats, so a compromise to both could be eating a handful of raw mixed nuts with two of your snacks.  You've got good fruits, good veggies, decent carbs.

You're on the right track, keep it up.

  3. Am I doing enough to lose some weight?

weigh yourself once a week.  if youre losing weight then the answer is yes

  4. You didn't say how large the portions are.  Portion control can play a big part in weight, especially with carbs and foods that contain sugar and corn syrup.  Congrats on your weight loss and keep up the good work.

  5. 1 day will not mak lot of differences if u do such like everyday u will certainly lose weight and i suggest u shoud take off the mash potatoes off auz it gets u fat.th 3 things that gets u fat the most are pastas, rice and potatoes

  6. your body has slowed down to compensate for new diet, try going to the pool a couple of times a week have oats for breakfast slower release than multi grain corn flakes

    got a good museli recipe

soak 100g oats in orange  overnight add

    handful of following

    nuts

    raisins

    pumpkin seeds

any fruit you want bananas whatever

add 200ml bio yoghurt and wee bit of skimmed milk of you like it a wee bit thinner

keeps you full for long time and is full of slow release energy

Good luck and you have done fantastic so far

  7. Consistently stick to your diet and exercise for 15 to 20 minutes a day.  Walking is good.  Your food choices look good to me.

  8. If this is your daily diet(or similar) then its really good, and will help you lose weight provided you combine it with 30 mins exercise daily.

Exerise is crucial plus it will help you tone up so weight loss will be noticeable.
