Am I dumb if my iq is 78?

No.  I have students with 55 IQ's that I consider to be very intelligent.  I know people with average and above average IQ's that I consider to be ignorant.  It's only a number.

An intelligence test usually only tests word thinking abilities and not true intelligence.

having a high iq does not make you super intelligent as having a low one doesnt make u dumb.

i do not know your age but the average for an adult is 100 according to mensa.

i know a few people who boast about their high iq but they act real dumb.

you should concentrate on who you are not how clever you are - you will be happier for it - and probably a very nice person too, which is the most important thing of all i think

the answer is: no one knows.

IQ is a way to see how smart you are RELATIVE to others in your age group. this is flawed several ways.

-if your age group is generally below average, that would bring Average Joe's IQ up.

-if your age group is generally above average, that would bring Average Joe's IQ down

-finally, there is no set way to measure intelligence. i have an IQ of 138, but i still make mistakes. h**l, im only human.

moral of the story: dont let your IQ score define who you are.

I don't like the term dumb.  90-110 is the normal IQ spectrum so 78 is below average.
