Question:

Am I entitled to any type of income support?

I worked part-time (10 hours a week) until June when we relocated. I am actively seeking employment but as I have three young children (10, 8 and 6) I can only work between the hours of 10am and 2pm, therefore up to 20 hours). Am I entitled to Job Seekers Allowance or similar?

Thanks.

  1. you should call the state you live in and get some phone numbers on who to talk to.  With three kids, they have daycare assistance programs, job placement programs. you really need to work more than  20 hours in order to survive, we all know that. and i know its hard with three kids, but they need you to support them. Seeing you're working so little hours, getting help should not be an issue... you can probably go on state assistance, food stamps, etc...

    but try calling around...

  2. In the USA you are not entitled to any gov support if you are not working or just seeking work.

If you were fired that would be different.

In the USA there is no such thing as "Job Seekers Allowance "
