  1. It depends on your employer's policy.  I would doubt it though.

  2. you mosy certainly are that is your time saved you have it banked when you are no longer employed a said employment they are supposed to add the allotted time to your salary if no you contact the better buisness bureau and they will make sure you get your money good luck

  3. I was laid off and received my vacation, sick and personal hours. If I had quit though I would have forfeited all of that. It might differ for your company though.

  4. you should be compensated for it..

  5. I highly doubt it

  6. Generally, no, except if it is the policy of your employer to do so.  If you had an employment contract, then if the contract says you get them, or some portion, then you will.  If you are in a union which has a contract with your employer -- same result.  Otherwise, you are at the mercy of the employer's policy.

Most employment in the US is "at will," meaning there is no employment contract and an employer can terminate -- or you can quit -- for almost any reason.  (Reasons which are not allowed are those based on unlawful discrimination, such as age, gender, national origin, etc.)

There is no law or rule that I'm aware of, in an "at will" situation, which helps you.

  7. At my old job, we had a guy work one extra week so he could get ANOTHER week of vacation. Then he took 2 weeks of vacation right before he quit and got paid for those. But I don't think you can QUIT and then take vacation.

  8. It depends on company policy.  Check with  your unemployment office they will be able to tell you are entitled to your vacation time or sick pay.

  9. No.   If an employer chooses to "give" it to you, they can.  Unless your contract says otherwise, it would depend on their policies.

  10. I depends on the companies policy. Usually PTO (Paid Time Off) is paid out at the time of termination. Most companies will pay you for any vacation but not sick days.  Check with the HR dept.

    You probably are eligible.

  11. they should send you a check for your unused vac

  12. it all depends on the documents you signed when you were hiring, you can always ask. but unless your "in good" with your work you probubly wont get it.

  13. If you quit your not entitled to it.

If you were fired they have to pay you your vacation pay.
