Am I entitled to time and a half for sundays (Ireland)?

I work full time, am over 18, so should I be paid extra for Sundays? Also my boss says she doesn't 'do' payslips. Is there a law that can back me up? I pay taxes and am on the books, she just doesn't want the hassle of paperwork.

  1. You are, as long as you go Mass before you start work.

  2. She has to give you a payslip and you can complain to the National Employment Rights Authority if she wont,

Whther or not she has to give you more for working on Sundays depends.

She has to if dont you get any other added payments, any other unsociall hours payments or time off in lieu.

  3. She is legally required to give you a payslip.

As for Sundays, the employer could argue that Sunday work is not exceptional, and is a normal working day.

If, however, you never worked a Sunday, and then you were asked to then you might be entitled to time and a half.

  4. yes

  5. by law she must issue payslips, you are entitled to time and a half an hour after doing 40 hours over the week

  6. rates of pay are what you agreed to when you took the job,pay slips are compulsory by law, after all, you need to be able to prove if required by the revenue that you are actualy paying tax, & social contributions .This is very important in case you become unemployed .if the authorities find that she is not complying the law & regulations of an employer she will be prosecuted.

  7. mmm sorry no extras for sundays...but you must have somewhere its paid into? if not you should have.. she must isuse with a p.60

  8. Well I get double time for Sundays so I think you should. And your boss will just have to 'do' payslips as its illegal otherwise.
