I go to the gym three times a week, on two occasions I do 20 Min's running at 8 mph, then 20 Min's walking at 6mph on a gradient of 8 and also 15 Min's of weights. The third day I just do the 40 Min's at a gradient and 6mph including the 15 Min's of weights. I,m looking to tone up and lose 8 lbs. Should I change what I,m doing? I try to keep my heart rate at 150 bpm.

  1. It sounds like your on the right track.  I'm impressed I run at 6 mph with intervals at 7mph at can barely keep up.  I think that you will hit your goals in no time.  The only other thing I know that works really well is intervals instead of doing the full 20 min at one speed try a few min at 6 mph then a few a 8mph and keep that up for the 40 min.  It's a great way to blast fat and the incline will help tone muscle.  Just remember to switch things up every once and a while because your body will get used to doing the same routine.
