Am I expected to buy a lot at a bar while watching the super bowl?

i'm thinking of heading to a local bar to watch the big game but i'm pretty poor. only want to spend 20 bucks tops! do bars expect you to drink and eat at lot? i'm just a single guy who will take up a little space so I can watch the game and not be off-guard when people talk about the game tomorrow at work.

Go...they can't make you spend a certain amount of money.  And I totally agree with the answer before me...there will be PLENTY of people who will drink for you.  And since you're single...maybe a girl will buy YOU a drink ;)

Just go in and do the minimum... THERE'S ENOUGH folks who will drink & eat plenty to cover you.. enjoy.

dude stay home .......get a  hot n ready and a 18pk of your beer of choice and chill

at least you will get a buzz at home rather then droppin cash on a beer or two some dinky appetizer

You can go and watch the game and enjoy the free food if they offer and drink as little or as much as you want....

Of course they want you to spend, but it is like any other day...plenty of people spend money...enjoy, dont overspend...
