Question:

Am I fat? Or is my friend too skinny? I feel that I'm average and my friend is calling me fat!?

I think that my friend is calling me fat! I'm 5'9, and wear a size 9-11 (long) and medium or large (depends) size shirt. I eat about 2,000- 2,200 calories a day (I learned in health class that this about the right amount to eat. 3 full meals!) I thought I was healthy.

But my friend here is about 5'5 and wears a size 5-7 and a small sized shirt! She only eats about 1,000-1,100 calories a day (about 2 small meals)! She claims that she is healthy.

Now, she is skinny and has a extremely flat stomach. I only have a small amount more that she has! In fact, some of my other friends (apparently not her...) even think that I'm thin! She says I'm fat!

I thought that it was right to not use supermodels as my target goal, but am I wrong?

  1. SHE IS ENVIOUS OF YOUR HEIGHT I ASSUME

  2. well first your not fat and if you keep going like this your not going to be either. Your really lucky to be able to keep healthy like that because alot of people are skinny and ruining their insides. i would suggest keep doing what your doing. You might want to talk to her and let her know calmly that you are not fat. I normally would say she isn't a friend and you should look for a new one but it sounds like you care for her enough to be worried and you still want to be her friend. so she may just want to put you down because she is jealous or maybe she is haveing some problems. some girls have eating problems keep an eye on her she doesn't sound to healthy eating the way she does. i hope you talk to her and figure this all out. Good luck

  3. OK obviously she is NOT your friend. If she is telling you YOUR fat to make herself seem slimer that no wayyy. Friends are supposed to stand up for you, and make you feel happy! Not make you doubt your body shape ( which is very healthy and sounds like a very satisfying place to be. ) Maybe she is jealous cause you have curves and she is a stick???

  4. Why is your friend calling you fat? (you're not) Why does she even care?

  5. you are not unhealthy and you are not fat. I am pretty sure you are the right weight height ratio according to the BMI index, i think your friend has an unhealthy calorie intake. You shouldn'tt listen to her.

  6. get a new friend.

  7. oh well shes not eating right, she will die of lack of vitamins.

give her 10 years. she will prob be fat.

    YOU are healthy.

    im 5"3(im short =() and i weigh 130 (healthy)

    and im 15.

    son't worry about it.

  8. Oh, you're healthy, and no you are not fat.

Your friend must have some mental issues about being obsessed with her body image and weight.

  9. She obviously isn't you re friend to call you fat. If you re happy with the way you are thats all that should matter here. You should use your weight as the target goal.. I cant understand why people must feel that they have to compare themselves to rake thin supermodels. Its whats inside that counts and you are not fat, If you think you are healthy and happy, so be it. I'd tell your "Friend" to sod off. You dont need people like that in your life.

  10. You're not fat, she's just trying to look like a supermodel. She is a good size, but her caloric intake is really small. She probably has a slow metabolism and is counteracting it by not eating as much. I wouldn't worry about it. She also probably has a smaller body frame than you do. The test I've read about is to wrap your index finger and thumb around your opposite wrist. If your fingers overlap you have a small frame, if they touch, medium, if they are far apart, large. I wouldn't worry about your friend. I don't know what her deal is but you don't sound fat to me.

  11. Why are you friends with her? She seems mean.

    How much do you weigh?

I bet you are thin! She's just mean cos you eat healthily and she doesn't. It's not healthy to only eat 1000.

  12. If she was your true friend she wouldn't call you derogatory names. you're just fine honey, i'm just about 5'8 and weight between 170-175. I look fine and others think i weight much less. Tell your friend you don't appreciate the negative criticism and if she persists you'll be forced to rethink the kind of friend you want around you.
