Am I going deaf?....or, is the quality of sound and/or speech on TV getting worse?

It seems more and more to me, as my wife and I sit and watch television, that we are saying to each other: "What did he/she say" My last physical shows my hearing to be normal, so what gives? I've got a fairly new, good-qualityTV, but it seems as if the actors are mumbling their lines. Is it me, or are there any others out there who notice the same thing?

Is it only when you watch TV that you experience this? Do you have a similar problem with the radio or when talking to people over the phone or face to face?

Maybe you could visit a friend/family and get to watch their TV for a short while to see if you have the same problem there. If you hear well in general then the problem might just be your TV, especially if both you and your wife are having the exact same problem and it started at a similar time.
