  1. You are not going mad, you are, just being a loving person...

Wish there more people like you out there.. pets are your best friend!!

All the best with you and your cat!

  2. it depends on what you think she's saying, but it sounds like you're just an attentive pet owner. Don't stress.

  3. not at all, kittie lovers should unite. i love my kitty and he loves me. we squeak to each other and we totally understand each other. it comes from being a total cat person since i was born. i even considered my parents's cat like a big sister till she died in 1993. Their current cat is my little brother. lol

  4. cats are great to talk to, unless they're dopey looking, then u feel daft. but my cat can sometimes look wise, and it makes it look like he's listening to me when im moaning about a lot of rubbish. Cats have great lives, just lying there. they dont have to worry about anything :)

  5. I foster cats and I have found that reading books to kittens and talking to them in a baby voice really helps socialize them to humans and calm them.

And I thought I was going crazy once, because I thought my cat could read my mind.  I thought, "Walk left!" and she did that!  She also did some other stuff, too.  It was weird.  But it never happened again.

I am fostering two eleven week old kittens and they love to be read to.  I sit in the cat room and read "Little Women" and "War and Peace" to them.  I also read "The Little Duckling" and that type of thing.

    And you think you're nuts?!

    You must love your cat!

  6. I often do it as my younger cat likes to talk if she is in the right mood

  7. Not mad in the clinical sense - but cat mad. They get to you like that, you know. I absolutely hear what you're saying, my friend. I think I can go one step further - I'm sure my cats also know what I'm thinking! And I'm sure they can control with the power of their minds!

  8. nope. Your getting saine.

  9. Nah, I talk to my lizard and my dogs everyay. I am a little mad though. But i don't see whats so bad about that. :)

  10. We all go a little mad sometimes...  lol

People and their pets can read each other - there's nothing wrong.

  11. My invisible cat got me to draw a cat flap on the door.

  12. I must be mad too cause I talk to my cats all the time! Baby talk!

  13. i treat my cat like my son, literaly. no your not going insane! your jsut a good mommy =]

  14. Of  course  not,  you  should  be  honoured  to  have  that  level  of  understanding  with  your  cat.  My  cat  understands  almost  everything  I  say  (within  reason  obviously)  and  I  know  what  he  wants  most  of  the  time.  it's  one  of  the  great  pleasures  in  life  to  make  a  connection  with  an  animal...in  fact,  I  barely  even  consider  him  an  animal. Keep  on  talking !

  15. lol. No, I talk to  my cats too, i know when they are hungry too!!

    They have amazing personalities.

  16. I talk to my cat too:)

I say  "Hello, its tom, are you ok?"

and then he answers me :):) We have full on conversations

  17. there is nothing wrong with it at all i know some1 that puts a cat in a pram and a cot that is what u call mad lol x

  18. You have a bond with your cat, you understand his body language and each of you has trained the other.  Perfectly normal as long as they don't tell you to do something illegal, you're good to go.

  19. Of course you aren't mad!!! I have a cat and speak to hi and my mum does and my sister!!

I understand my cat too I know also when he wants to be fed and when he wants me to open the door..............   No way you are going mad!!

  20. lol well i talk to my grandma and grandads dog if that helps!

  21. I know exactly what you mean!  My cats have trained me to respond to their specific kinds of meows and behaviors too.

I ask them questions they refuse to answer though, such as "why are you so naughty?", "why did you knock that down?", "which one of you did that?".   They have no time in their busy kitty-cat schedule to answer such stupid rhetorical questions.

One cat has developed a "name" for me, kind of a "yeeow-WAH".  When I hear that, I know I'm supposed to come running.  Although, I admit to acting like they do and pretend I don't hear them.

  22. NOPE

    little furbals are cute

  23. no you are not going mad, just bonding with your lovely cat

  24. I think that is normal, cats are "people" too they need communication

Mines has also trained me, she waits at the back door and meows when she wants out, sits on the wall when she wants in, meows at the cupboard when she wants food (if there isn't any out)

    Cats are amazing creatures (:

  25. Anyone who thinks that cats aren't intelligent doesn't know what they're talking about.  After all, mine has trained me, too.  I know the type of meow she uses when she wants me to turn on the faucet in the bathroom so she can get a drink, the type of meow she uses when she just wants petted, the type of meow that she uses when I accidentally wake her up when she's sleeping, etc.  The funny thing is, when she demands something, I jump to attention and give her what she wants.  That's why there's the saying "Dogs have owners but cats have staff."  THEY train US -- WE don't train THEM.  And by the way, I talk to my cat, too -- a lot!

  26. If your going mad then so am I. I talk to my cats, dog and bird. lol

they arent really my pet i am their pet :P

  27. Yeah well at least you don't go onto buses and go "Look it's a Nee Naw" When a ambulance goes passed. I did this forgetting my 3 year old nephew wasn't with me :)

  28. You're not going mad.

I think it's sweet that you guys are understanding each other.

My friend is like that with her dog, and now I'm spending a lot of time with her dog and becoming the same way.

    It's really cute!

  29. Of coarse not, that's called having a cat. You start to learn each meow and what the cat wants better. Us fellow cat owners understand that, you'll see!
