Am I hating on KG?

I mean don't get me wrong, he is a excellent power forward and probably the 4th or 5th best of all time but a lot of you guys are overrating him, I mean the c**p about Tim Duncan not being in the same league as Garnett? Seriously now guys, KG wouldn't have even won a title if it wasn't for Pierce and Allen. Duncan is the best power forward of all time and I don't even like the guy but its kind of obvious, 4 titles, couple of MVPs, automatic double double every night and yet some how KG is in this picture of the greatest, why? What has he done before he came to Boston? Not much, a couple of playoff appearances, yea he made it to the conference finals once but other than that what has he done that earns him the right to be considered one of the best of all time? All of you g*y Celtic fans are going to say im hating on KG, im not but if he really wanted a title, he should have taken less money to get better players on the team but no he took the biggest contract he could, Im not a TD fan.

  1. I completely  agree...Tim Duncan is one of the best players this game has seen...and is definetely the best forward in the game right now...

I agreed with everything you said. I think Pierce is the real cornerstone of the Celtics and KG is just a standby...

I mean, look what Duncan has accomplished! He's lead  his team after the big laker streak and won 3 (I think) championships.

KG is just crazy...he's a good player obviously but no leadership skill and has no potential to be an MVP because he just isn't that good. His stats aren't even that impressive...

  2. I am not a Celtics fan, but all respect to KG. He is a great player, and he proved it. Not a very overrated player. Ur not a hater, u just like Duncan better. Nothing wrong w/ dat.

  4. first of all. karl malone is the best PF of all time. just like KG needed pierce and allen, duncan needed parker & ginobili.

the reason he is being overhyped is because he deserved a ring more than TD and when he finally got it, people appreciated that and were happy for him. which is why the garnett is better than duncan answers kept occuring.

as of right now, i would say that garnett is the better player, TD is great but he is showing signs of aging. garnett is a little bit better right now.

  5. TD vs KG ? you really cant compare the two other than their height… its like comparing Lennox Lewis to Floyd Mayweather.. TD is all about the fundamentals, nothing flashy but he gets the job done… on the other hand KG is loud, flashy and a great player.. it comes down to what you prefer… neither player would have won a ring if it wasn’t for the other 4 players around them… you never saw either player take over any of the playoff games when their teams needed extra help…

  6. Your not hating on KG, Duncan is better. KG has a HUGE heart and is amazing, but truth is he is not a Go to guy on the Block like TD. Duncan is just money on low or High block. KG is not that far off and is more athletic than Tim but he is just not better.  TD is the best PF of this decade and in the Top 3 of all time.

-burninat Come on, KG not a leader? He was the heart and soul of the Celts. His 02-03/03-04 seasons were MVP type years if Min was any better.

-KG could have carried a team w/ at least one other player in the past, but now he is aging and has lost some athleticism. TD has always had a supporting cast since he was a rookie w/ the tutorage of "The Admiral"

  7. I'm Celtics fan but I'm not g*y.  Sorry to disappoint you.  I myself think Duncan is the best PF now.  I like KG for his energy that he bring day in and day out but Duncan is so consistent.  I'm a huge fan of Duncan more then I am of KG.

KG during the Final showed up part of the game.  He looked great for 1/2 and then disappear.  You are right in that without Paul and Ray, KG would not have won the way he played.  But I guess that is the advantage of having 3 stars.  They only need two of the three to show up on any given night to win.

Duncan wouldn't disappear like KG.  Duncan is my favorite player and then LeBron and AI after that.  Also Duncan took less money so that Spurs can sign their other star.  Now that's class.

I don't think you're hating on KG.  You are accurate with your analysis.

  8. im am a kg fan, not necessarily a celtics fan.

i agree with you with saying when people say tim duncan isn't in the same league as garnett.  but you can't exactly compare them.  they have completely different playing styles, so already they shouldn't be compared.  i mean you may as well compare someone like A.I and CP3 who are both listed as PG but play completely different styles.

KG accomplished as much as he could with the supporting cast he had.  the one year where he had a good cast, he made it to the western conference finals.  tim duncan on the other hand was blessed to have david robinson with him during his early years, and subsequently learned and won titles.  garnett didn't have a mentor as timmy D had.  both are great players but you do have to take into account the supporting cast.  this year garnett was lucky enough to get pierce and allen (among other players) as a support cast, and they all supported each  other to form an unbeatable team.

tim duncan IS NOT the best power forward of all time.  barkley (yes the fat guy on TNT) is better than duncan.  Garnett is (or was) also an automatic double double, look at his career stats.  the reason he didn't get it this season is because the starters often sat the 4th quarter (towards the end of the season).  duncan controls the boards because he plays in the paint, garnett likes to roam around, and isn't your prototypical power forward, because he likes to step out and hit the J

as for money, i can't comment on that XD
