I am 13 years old and I have a pen pal in Sierra Leone Africa. Sierra Leone is a very poor country and I'm not sure if they're able to get stamps to send letters. Until now, our letters have been hand delivered by one of my dad's friends who visits Sierra Leone but he got sick and is unable to travel for a while. So I sent her a letter about a month ago but I couldn't send her postage because the post offices in the U.S. can't give away African postage. I am not sure if she is able to get posage or not and I don't know how far away her nearest post office is. I sent a letter to her about a month ago, if she had been able to mail a letter back, do you think I would've gotten it by now? How long does it take for a letter to get from America to Africa? Also keep in mind that she lives in a small village where the mailing service might be slower or not a frequent. If my friend was able to get postage and write back, would it have gotten to my house by now?
