Am I having my first period?

Uh, this is really embarrassing. I am having these brown spots in my undies lately, and I'm not sure if it's my period or something. Is it? If it is, I am really afraid to tell my mom, and my brother will probably tease me about it. What should I do?

Im going through the EXACT same thing! I told my mom and she told me I was growing up. And no I did'nt cry, we all get it ((girls)) and your not dying. Pads can get a little bit annoying but you get used to them. Congratulations, this is a HUGE step to maturity in a girls life :)

I know what you are going through, I have discharge and I told my mum and we have our talks, i was DEAD embarrssed at first i didnt tell my mum for a few hours, but she was there to help, just tell your mum not to tell your brother and im sure she'll keep it a secert. Ive done some reasearch, and discharge is a HUGE sign for you to just about start you should start within 6 months. Even though I haven't started i still wear pads because i get discharge, but never wear tampponds for the first few months at least.

okay i dont know much about this stuff cause i've only got a discharge but u probs r having urs dont tell ur brother they dont understand all they do is laugh at serious things and watch tv and act like an animal and to the person who said there a doc trust me ur just a guy

omg the first time i had my period it was TOTALLY red/brown and hurt SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad i didn't want to go thro it again but i will hav to for like the next 50 years

LOL!!! I'm going through the same thing I'm at home alone so I found a pad put it in my undies and my parents will be home in like 20 mins so... Yeah. Also you most likely got your period . I feel your pain!

PLZ HELP!!!! i am at my dads house, my moms not picking up the phone, and my dad doent know the first thing about it. wuts going to happin?!?!?!?!? i am getting the brown spots to, and a little blood. wuts gonna happin now?!?!?!?! is it gonna come gushing out while i am typing this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? i know exactly what you guys mean! i dont have mine yet but i was like super scared about getting it. so i did a ton of reseach and i no about everything i need to know. im like totally prepared and almost like expecting it. the signs of getting your period is mild cramping, whitish-yellowish discharge, headaches, pubic/underarm hair, and body odor. hope this helps

luk i'm having my first period 2 i told my sis about it but she woun't wake up and i don't know where she puts her pads so i'm just waiting 4 her 2 wake up and yes it's true it's brownish colour not red and it makes u smell so i'm going 2 town 2 get more perfumes and rollons...

Period Blood is not red, most girls expect it to be but it is a brown colour, you should wait till your brother is out or somthing and tell your mum. She has been through it too !

don't worry. im 10 and i mite be going through it to. just relax and talk privately to your mom about it. thats wat im doing anyway and it helps

yes your going to have your period!!!! dont be afraid to tell your mum, remember parents want you to be happy to speak to them, she was a girl too!!
