Question:

Am I likely to have triplets?

I'm not pregnant, but my Mum has said to me and my sisters that we could have triplets because the gene skips a generation. My Grandfather was a triplet, and none of my Aunts or Uncles on my Mum's side have had triplets, so could it be more likely that my generation, on my Mother's side, will have triplets?

  1. noooooooooo thats not true

the only way you can find out is through a 2d scan (ultrasound)

    but no thats not true

    everyones different

(my mates are twins) both have kids but they both have one, and there mum was a twin so no peple cant predict what you will have and how many its a matter of ultrasound to tell you

  2. Triplets are not an inherited condition.  Twins are.  It is the individual mother who may have repeated triplets (as in the case of the Russian woman who had 69 children).

  3. it might be possible if there is a long history of multiple births in the family.  if there is a history it is far more likely you will have twins than triplets or more.

  4. It's possible, but unlikely. It's not a rule as such
