Am I living in Sin by living with my boyfriend?

I am 22 years old and have been living with my boyfriend for 2 years. We are both Catholic, but not soo religious, more just good, kind people. Are we ng together in sin because we are not married. He asked me to get engaged alrady but I said when we are a couple of years older.

Depends, are you having s*x?  If you are THEN you are living in sin, according to the Catholic faith.  But if you're a "recovering Catholic" *wink* then i wouldn't worry about it....

only you can decied if you are living in sin in this situation...well the living together is not a sin for sure, but about the sexual relations and marriage then it all depends, as a catholic woman you know how all that goes, but you said yourself your not too too religious, so because of that id say its all up to you...ya know..

God knows when we have good intentions and/or bad ones. I was having s*x way before i got married but it was only with one person and i did it because i knew id be with that person forever and now we are married...so in my case i think its okay...you see what im saying..?

Yes.

People having sexual relations outside of marriage especially when they are living together is "living in sin."

God is concerned with how we treat each other.

We have been instructed to love

+ Our neighbor as we love ourselves

+ One another as Jesus loved us

When we treat each other like s*x objects, when s*x is taking instead of giving, we damage the human dignity of both our partner and ourselves.

True giving of yourself to another in a sacramental marriage is what love is all about.

Marriage is a symbol of God's creation of the world in an act of divine love and self-outpouring.

Marriage is a symbol of the love, commitment, intensity, and passion of Christ for the Church for which He laid down His life.

Christians take s*x very seriously because it is a glorious gift from God that lets us feel just a bit like God. We become lovers, givers, and creators.

If you call yourself a Catholic, then yes, you are living in sin. Talk to a priest for an expert opinion.

I am not Catholic and I totally believe you are living in sin.  This is what the Bible teaches us.

according to the Catholic religion, yes, but according to any other religion, probably not. The Catholic Church is still way behind the times and I wouldn't worry about it. You do what is best for you.

Based purely on church beliefs (and what else you could base a question like this on), yes, you are living in sin (I can't believe you even had to ask that).

Does society care that you're living in sin?  No.  Does the church? Yes.  So the question then becomes 'do YOU care'.

I would say no.  I feel it's better to live with the person first. You don't really have any idea of who they are until you live with them.  If you can make it past the first years, then you should be good. I think you are doing a good thing.  Make sure it's what you want.

I am not going to answer the religous aspect to this.  But, basically I think you are making a mistake living with him before you are married or actively making plans for marriage.

You are very young and things change so quickly.  I would hope that you are pursuing a college degree or making it so that you are an independent, whole person capable of supporting yourself by yourself.  You should be a stable person all the way (financially, mentally, healthwise, educationwise) around before you ask/want someone to share their lives with you. And they should be the same. This way you can enhance each others lives and build upon that.

At 22, Sweetheart you are entitled to live with, and how you choose.

If Living together was a Sin, there will be no room in h**l

for all the sinners.
