Right now, I'm going into my sophomore year, and I am having trouble deciding what schedule is best for college. :( I'm not quite sure what I would like to do in the future, since I love mathematics/music/foreign language/writing... There's so many things I would love, so I am trying to keep my options open, but it's difficult to decide what classes are right. Right now, my schedule has an extra math class, due to the fact I want to do Calculus during my senior year, but to do so, I took out Spanish III. I would like to do Spanish III, but I would have to take out Sinfonia Orchestra to take it, and I need Sinfonia to have more music opportunities, since I'm depending on music for scholarships. Therefore, I'm taking a 'break' from Spanish. I'm taking Algebra II and Geometry now, and I'm positive I am able to handle it, and Algebra II is required to take Chemistry, which I'm also taking in 10th grade. However, taking a break from a language is considered a bad thing from most colleges? Especially since of my top choices in a career is Translating? I'm so confused about what would be the greatest choice to keep my options open, because nowadays, most colleges prefer 4 years of college, (Which I was hoping to cover by taking a year of Latin later..), and I'm pretty sure they will want consistency in the language courses. So, am I making a good choice right now by taking double math, a year off language, and keeping Sinfonia Orchestra? I'd like to know what some people think, especially people with knowledge of what colleges like please.
