Question:

Am I making too big of a change in myself?

I've had glasses for approx. 4 years. My hair is really long- 23 inches. I normally wear just regular t-shirts from Target. no makeup, and the only earrings were studs.

I got contacts, I'm thinking of getting highlights, a haircut, a lot of my clothes are from Hollister or Aeropostale now, I'm wearing mascara on a daily basis now, and sometimes eyeliner. Oh, and I love hoops now(earrings.)

This all happened pretty much over the summer. Will classmates start thinking of me differently? this one girl in my school, but her hair really short, and dyed it, and everyone was talking about how she changed. My "changes" are more drastic then her, even tho I'm not dying it. I mean, sure my appearance will be different; but, not on the inside!

Please answer with honesty, if I changed a lot. And, how to react if friends or peers start gossiping about it, or tell me straight to my face? 10 POINTS BEST ANSWER!!!

  1. The drastic change will definitely make people talk, but they'll say the change is for the better, not worse! Either way, you shouldn't give a sh*t about what other people think anyways.

  2. I'm sure people will start gossiping about it behind your back for the first day or so but who cares. I'm sure you'll get alot of compliments as well. People are jealous, so as long as you like it that's all that matters.

  3. just show them the real katie!!!!!!!!!

i no that u didnt change on the inside, and even tho i havent seen ur contacts yet, i no u look gourgeous dahhling!!! even if u get a haircut and highlights, so what??? i got like 6 inches chopped off my hair in the 2nd month of school and nobody thought i changed!!

i no u well enough to no that ur clothes, makeup, accessories, or anything else for that matter would change the katie i no!!

  4. I think it would be shallow and stupid of ppl to talk about you because you cut your hair and got contacts..as long as you feel good about how you look and you did this because its your style and you like it..then dont' worry about them..more than likely..they're jealous if they talk about you!

  5. You can assure people you havent changed by still acting like you! You can still joke around if you do and just be you. It's only your appearence thats changed. Your friends like you for who you are not for what you look like :)

And also I think people will talk about yu, but in a good way. You'll look better then what you used to and if I was one of your friends I would tell you to your face that you look really nice! Your growing up and want a more older look ie the highlights and fashion clothes!

If people cant see that it's still you, but youve grown up more then they dont know you! Your friends will see the real you though! And hopefully everyone else too (:

  6. Well, in life we all do changes..its all about life and growing .

CHANGE is Great .If you feel good of how you look then there's no problem ..People will notice your looks now that are different but they will also notice that you still the same person inside (so theres no problem) Good Luck and congrats on your new look ..Don't you feel Great :)

  7. ok you are freaking out you need to calm down who cares what they think first of all.  and you will be fine a lot of people change their appeearance.  they will understand it's till you if you do.  calm down it will be fine.just don't hink of it as changing but gaining soem fashion advice..  don't be so worried about what others think.

  8. You changed for the better, if they gossip you should feel good because they are jealous that you suddenly look and feel better then they do. Just tell them: jealousy is a horrible disease, get better!

  9. Okay no need to freak out obviesoly you are growing up and everyone changes at least once throughout their life and its your turn right now so if they say something to your face just say back to them something about that its your life and you can do whatever you feel like to it and if people start gossiping about it just ignore it and if your friends are talking about it behind your back they aren't good friends then I guess.

  10. sure uve changed a lot, but definitely for the better... just dont act any differently and dont staart acting really bratty like some of those ppl do and theyll see ur the same...if ur friends are reallly true friends theyll just be happy for u

  11. OH MY GOSH! I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!! srry, but i do. in 4 grade, i always was a real big tomboy. i wore boy clothes, and didnt wear any makeup or anything. i didnt even wear jewelry. i didnt care how my hair looked or anything. but now im goin into 7 grade, and i wear girl clothes, have earrings, wear makeup, and LOVE to do my hair. Occasionally, people tell me that i've changed a lot, but they never tell me that my personality changed. im still the same person i am inside. still, i've matured since 4 grade, im not nearly as big a crybaby anymore.

but i think that sometimes, a little change is good. if u feel good about urself now, than that's all that matters. People probly will realize,  but i dont think that they would judge u on it, and if they do, then dont listen to them, cuz thats not nice. but if u just act the same, and not brag or anything about ur change, i think things should be just fine. just tell them that ur happy with urself now, and thats all that matters.

its wut worked for me, GOOD LUCK!!!:)

  12. if you feel confident with your new look that should show and you shouldnt be judged.

if some snob happens to come up to you though and says oo tryin to fit in or w/e ...lol just say im trying out some new styles that i think look good.

    good luck!
