I am in my late 30's. Don't wear baggy clothing or die my hard black and I wear a crew cut or a butch. My clothing consists of wearing Bike Coaches Shorts, cutoff sweatshirts, and tennis shoes. On Weekdays I wear slacks or blue jeans, knit shirts, and boots. If I am in my 30's am I allowed to wear what is comfortable and not be concerned about today's fashions? What about wearing clothing styles from the 1980's or the 1970's. The polyester suit and platform shoes are a little much, but what is wrong with the clothing. Everything is going to be out of style eventually. I guess I am a little weird, but I find clothing young kids wear today a little ugly. I am experiencing the generation crunch like our parents and grandparents?

  1. its perfectly normal for someone that age. i see a lot of people your age dressing like that.

  2. There is nothing wrong with wearing what you want.  I am an 18 year old black guy, but I love old fashioned trenchcoats and flat caps.  However, rather than just buying all the clothes that you like, buy some singular items that you like, and mix them with modern clothes.  For example, if you like 1940s clothes, buy some, but dont wear them all together; it will look costume-y.  Rather, look 1940s inspired by wearing a fedora with a modern suit, or a knee skirt with a modern top.

  3. Apply to What Not To Wear.
