Question:

Am I now counted as a "legal resident"? (USA)?

I moved to the USA a couple of years ago and have been going through the process of getting the green card, etc. I have been approved for a visa for permanent residency, but they haven't actually given me the visa yet due to backlogs in the system. I could be waiting a while, heh. That's fine, but what I really want to know is if I am considered a "legal resident" yet - I live here legally, have been approved for the visa, but they won't give it to me yet, so what is my status? Also, if I do count as a "legal resident", how can I prove this without the visa? Thanks!

  1. You won't be a permanent resident until you can prove it with the green card
