Question:

Am I obligated to accept a LinkedIn recommendation?

I found out after accepting her connection recently that she's done some crazy stuff in recent weeks. Is it bad form to ignore the recommendation? I didn't ask for it.

Thanks.

  1. You only want to approve and display a recommendation that helps you build your personal platform.

So - you accepted a connection from someone you know and trust, right?

If that person has behaved oddly recently, you'd probably want to have a conversation with them about it, yes?

Go out to lunch with them and see what's going on...

Now let's suppose for a moment that you connected to someone you don't know - how then can they give you a valid recommendation?  If you found a profile with generic recommendations from apparent strangers, what would you think of that individual?  Is that what you want people thinking about you?
