Am I overfeeding my baby Crested Gecko?

I just took him home this morning, he's about 4 inches long. I hand fed him some of the T-Rex goop stuff (with real strawberry blended in! yum...) off my finger and put the rest (in a little lid for a milk jug) in his cage. I also hand fed him 7 or 8 very slightly larger than pinhead crickets. He was still gulping them down after the last couple! I know to only feed crickets every other day, but is 7 or 8 too many?

  1. My theory is to feed them until they stop eating. It'll let you know when it's full. With my reptiles, I feed x amount a week (for instance 12 a week). If those are gone immediately, feed more. If it takes a long time to eat them, reduce the number. Always monitor your lizard to make sure their not chewing on them. If you see them crawling all over your lizard, take them out.

  2. No you are fine. He should not eat more then he can. Also make sure you put vitamins on the crikets. As for the T-rex food, that kinda stuff is great, but if his poo gets runny put more romain in it. And if it is white, give hom more water, use a drop on his noes till he stops liking it up.
