Question:

Am I ovulating or could I be soon?

I had AF August 22-26, so I'm on cycle day 14. That wouldn't necessarily mean anything since I have PCOS and have irregular cycles. I do get periods naturally, usually every 2-3 months. I just started taking Vitex (this af came naturally, I started the Vitex the day it came). I started charting my BBT this cycle as well and my temp hasn't gone up yet. CM is somewhere between creamy and watery (TMI- I know, sorry!) but I could be wrong, still trying to get the hang of it. I've been having cramps since yesterday, but not as bad as menstrual cramps and had a tiny bit of spotting yesterday. Could this mean I'm ovulation or getting ready to?

  1. Well, personally I've had cramping and spotting while I was ovualting. At first I wasn't sure what was going on so I call my Dr. office and was seen the say day just to find out that I was just ovulating.  My Dr. said that this was due to egg production and it is normal.

  2. Spotting mid cycle i does not usually indicate ovulation it nearly always means a problem with your hormones and this may well have been caused by the vitex.  If you are having problems with your cycle you should always see a dr before taking any herbal remedies and remember this one is used for very painfull periods and for people going through the menopause.  It sounds to me like this is not the drug for you so stop taking it.  With you having PCOS I wouldnt advise that you take any medication to alter your hormones because they are already imbalanced as this can cause some nasty side affects and in this case bleeding mid cycle is one of them.  Because you have a hormone imbalance this medication is not likely to regulate them but disturb them more, this medication increases your amounts of estrogen which controls your womb lining during menstruation, there has obviously been a problem with the amount ie not enough because the lining has begun to fall away or too much estrogen because it wasnt thickly formed like it should have been and the amount that has fallen away was a very poorly formed endometrium that certainly could not have maintained a healthy pregnancy even if you did ovulate.

Please dont take any more herbal remediesand see a dr for advice on regulating your cycle.

    Good Luck
