Am I part Turk?

I found out that I have some ancestry from the Ottoman Empire from about the 1500s, am I still part Turk?

  1. The Ottoman empire was something like this: turks+greeks+arabs+bulgarians+serbs+pers...

    So, how you can be sure are you part Turk? Impossible. The Turkish today are also not a pure nation - a lot of Kurds and also other nations.

In the Ottoman Empire, there were a lot of nations living under the same rule: romanians, hungarians, serbs, montenegrins, macedonians, greeks, vlachs, bulgarians, armenians, kurds, arabians, galatian and albanians beside the turks and other turkoman people. Also, there were sefardies people from Spain and Portugal.

    our genetic background is so mixed up that you can't talk about a genetically pure Turkishness anymore.

    we are all children of a major empire. and that is - in my opinion - enough to feel more humane; not belonging to a so called "pure" genetical background I mean. less vulnerable to human weakness.
