Okay. It was my first time trying to conceive, so I am going to give you a bit of background.

On August 10th, I was ovulating (If my calculation is correct.) We tried on the 10th, 11th, and 15th. My period is due on the 24th. I know it's best to way before the first day of your missed period, but I think I'm feeling pregnancy symptoms. Is it too soon? It is not officially 8 days after first trying.

Symptoms:

Sore and tender b*****s

Sore and tender nipples

Lower ab cramps

Heartburn

Nausea

A bit of increased appetite

Headaches (here and there)

A bit more thirsty than usual

Do you think it is too early for symptoms? What are the chances that I am pregnant? I know every woman is different, however, is it totally out of the question to be experiencing these symptoms so soon? When should I buy a test?

  1. Well sometimes when you want to be pregnant your mind will tell your body to act pregnant, and you'll experience all the symptoms. And as soon as you test and its negative they'll go away. So I say wait a week or 2 then test, with an expensive test... because they are more accurate. I hope this helps!

  2. It's a bit early to tell. Unfortunately, all the symptoms of early pregnancy are similar to those of people getting ready to get their period. Morning sickness typically hits after your period is due. Week 5 or so when the hormone levels start to soar.

So a pregnancy test will be the only indicator. The earliest you can do some tests is 3 days before your period is due. So, in your case, the 21st. However, testing so early reduces the accuracy of the test, you may get a negative when you are pregnant (but a positive is always a positive) Your best bet is to wait until the day your period is due.

If you can't wait, do your test with the first urine of the morning. It will be the most concentrated of the day and if you do have pregnancy hormones, it will most likely be detected in the early morning sample.

    Good luck!

  3. You could buy a test now.  If it comes out negative and you still have the symptoms wait about a week or so more and test again.

  4. The symptoms sound right but a bit soon. But like you said everyone is different so wait until it's time for you to miss your period.

  5. It isn't too soon to be feeling things if you're paying attention.  Lots of women feel things -- I am paying attention this time and feel lots of little twinges in my ovaries, light cramping, very moody, tired...good luck to you and me both!

  6. Hi,

I think there are a number of possibles here. The symptoms you are experiencing really do sound like pregnancy BUT they also sound like common pre-menstral symptoms, depending on how you usually are before a period. It is early to be feeling these symtoms if you are pregnant but not impossible - wait and if your period is late get a couple of tests and do them in the morning when the hormones are most concentrated in your urine.

If you absolutely cant wait then there are early detection tests that you can use before a missed period but remember that they might not be accurate, a negative might not mean you arent pregnant.

    Good Luck!!!! xx

  7. I think you are experiencing 'New TTCer Syndrome.'

With the exception of heartburn, ALL of those symptoms can be included as PMS symptoms.  Especially sore b*****s and headache, which can be caused by increasing progesterone, and can happen during and after ovulation, regardless of whether or not pregnancy has occurred.

The earliest you could expect a positive result would be on August 20th, but I would wait until August 26th.

Also, I think you should know, that you need to be having s*x BEFORE ovulation.  Sperm can survive for several days within your body.  It is good to have a healthy supply waiting within your fallopian tubes to fertilize the egg as soon as it is dropped.  You SHOULD have had s*x on the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th.

    Good luck!
