Question:

Am I pregnant? Very confused!?

Ok..this is very confusing. I am 21 and overweight, and have always had irregular periods. The longest I have ever gone without a period was 2 months. In April I had my period the 4th..and then again on the 27th and haven't had one since. About two months ago there was a little blood when I used the bathroom..but only once.

Now I was pregnant in 2005 and had all the normal symptoms..nauseousness, headaches, dizziness, and frequent urination. This time I haven't really had those. There's been a few times that I've been nauseous and dizzy, but not frequently at all. I have been very bloated for the last couple of weeks. But that is all for symptoms.

Now I have taken about 10 pregnancy tests over the past few months. 9 were negative, 1 was positive.

I went to my gyn last week and had a blood test and am waiting for the results. But I'm really anxious...any ideas from anyone else?

Thanks!

  1. It's very easy to get a false negative on a hpt, it might say no when you really are. It's pretty difficult to get a false positive, if it was positive, you probably are pregnant.

  2. The blood test will tell you for sure but I can tell you I took SEVERAL test and they were all negative and that led me to NOT find out I was pregnant until I was 6 MONTHS ALONG!! Those test just are not 100%. I don't know if this is relevant but I am overweight too and had abnormal periods so just kept believing the negative tests till the positive one came up. Sure enough they did an ultrasound and I was 24 weeks pregnant!

  3. well since you got that one positive test i would say you are because it is very unlikely to get a false positive when you are not pregnant because it is picking up a trace of HCG which is the pregnancy hormone. Congrats! and good luck!

  4. Looks like you had history of polycistic ovaries, this causes your periods to be so irregular as well as weight gain. If your last test was the one that was positive, probably you are pregnant and your pregnancy hormone level just was not high enough to show on the previous one, but I am sure that your blood test will show if it is present.

    Good luck and God bless!!!
