Am I ready for another pet?

Back in January, I had a beagle / jack russell puppy. One day she was happy and playing and the next, she was sick... two days later she died. In February, our beagle gave birth to a litter of pups from the same bloodline as my puppy. We gave all but 2 [both females] away, and the same thing happened to them earlier this month. After Boo died in January, it took me a while to get over it, but after Lilie and Tinkerbell died, it didn't hit me as hard.

My first question, do you think I am ready for another pet? I really miss the companionship, and I'd love to have another.

My second question, are there any diseases for beagles or jack russell terriers, that are hereditary that are only deadly to females?

yah get another pet but maybe a different type but alot of my family had or have beagles and none died like that they just got very old and died or are still alive

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my dog in Febuary. He was a mini pincer.  It takes a long time to get over it when you loose a pet. My dog was like my son and i'm still trying to get over it. Really no one can tell you if you are ready for a new dog or not. only you can deside. I hope you make the right choice.

You may have something around your house that is making your dogs sick, its normally rare that your situation happens

If u killed 4 dogs... I don't think your ready for a pet. Wat did u do wrong?

Go with a Corgi, little guys can play for hours, and they look so cute with their stubby legs!

make sure you don't have anything weird in your house because i've never heard of something like that......and I would try either different types of dogs or male jack russel or beagles and yes it would be good to get a pet to help you cope:)

yes a pet really would help you recover from so much loss and they really are good friends.

for the second question............idk but if i were you id move away from beagles and jack russell terriers to like a mutt or lab or something else. yess a pet would be good to have.
