  1. Untill he's 18. but don't you want to try and help him in college?  He's your kid.

  2. no if they attend college you keep paying

  3. you are a looser dad-- i hope your child doesn't read this--"my dad only supports me because he is required"  it is no wonder that children have so little respect and love for their weekend fathers!!!

  4. It depends on what is put in the divorce decree.  In general, child support lasts only until the age of 18/graduation from high school, but some provision is made in the decree for the parents to share college expenses.

  5. He or she is your child, why wouldn't you want to help him or her at this point in their life? Anyway, it depends on the state or if you were divorced and what was in your divorce decree.

  6. It depends on state law and your divorce & child support agreements.  In Mass. e.g., you can be required to pay up to age 23 or receipt of BA if the child attends college.  Most states now have some sort of provision for college costs, and child support agreements which made no provision at the time for college can often be amended to include college when it comes time.

Read your divorce decree and child custody/child support documents. See your lawyer.

  7. i think it's a state thing each being different but mi. is 23 as long as the child is a student.

  8. 18 and the finish of all school. If they go to college the age is extended until 21

  9. Well I know that in Ireland you are required to untill age 23 if your child is attending college however  you did not say where you are located.

  10. Unless your courts papers say otherwise... only until they reach 18 or finish high school..whichever comes last.

  11. it would depend on your divorce, state laws, as mine kids, chose to not to attend college, so it ended at 18, but then I know of situations, where they paid it until 23yrs old

  12. Some courts or states may require support until age 21 if the child is attending a college.

  13. yes if they attend college the time is extended.
