Question:

Am I right or wrong? Recent trip to Woodbine Racetrack..?

I have been a customer there for over 8 years playing the slot machines. Probably spent tens of thousands there, and maybe brought in half of that in winnings. Thats not my beef..on a recent trip there my friend (who hates gambling) picked up a .05 cent ticket off the ground and kept it. The security officers told him that he was stealing it because it wasnt his. Whose was it? If you find a nickel on the ground and pick it up is that stealing? Because I voiced my dissatisfaction with this, (and yes used the mother of all swear words) I was told to leave and not come back for 24 hours and was escorted out. My question is (ok leaving out the swear word), do you think that Woodbine handled this right? I won't go back . I mean if they are that hard up for .05 cents..after millions they get a week there.

  1. I know this not what you want to hear, but according to the "Gaming Commission" all pay-out tickets are the sole property of the casino until the rightful owner cashes it in.

To say that you were "stealing" is a bit strong and a little more diplomacy could have been used.  However, if you like that casino, overlook the situation (if you can) go back and beat the heck out of the slots.  Good Luck!

  2. You said "Thanks for handling my beef diplomatically."  lol.  Thats funny.

  3. Casinos are very strict.  I would never do business with that place again.  It is not stealing to pick up a ticket or a chip off the floor.

If you want to vent more write a letter to the manager and tell them how you feel.

    Good Luck.
