Am I right or wrong? one day, a tree that is on my next door neighbors property fell...

As a result of the tree falling, it caused some damages to my home that cost me $2000 to fix. I asked her nicely would she be responsible for helping me with the cost of the damages and she rudely replied "no".

As of today, it has been 3 weeks since then, so my husband and I cut the tree up and put the whole thing on her property. I wanted her tree off of my lawn but cannot afford to have it hauled off professionally. Am I wrong for putting the tree back on her lawn?

  1. You are not only right, you are remarkably forbearing.

The damage to your home is her responsibility, and she's legally

required to compensate you for it.

Her insurance should cover it, if she has any.

If she's rude into the bargain, you should have no compunction

about suing her. (Charge her for 'hubby's' labor in removing

    the debris as well.)

  2. she is fully reponsible call your insurance company, they may help you out with getting in contact with her insurance company, make a police report if you have to not sure how that goes with things like this. personally I dont think your wrong I would have put it in her driveway for her.

That is true you can still sue her.

  3. You were correct. To do otherwise would be wrong. Even though it fell on your lawn it remains her tree.

  4. No.What a rude, you know what she is.It's her tree, you just returned it to the rightful owner.

  5. You should have contacted your insurance company and the local authorities.  You also could file suit against her.

  6. You are not wrong, she is. The tree was on her property and was her responsibility to care for.

If it was dying and she did not take the steps to make sure it did not fall on your house, then that is negligence on her part and you can sue her.

Call your insurance company and get them on her case.
