My last job paid me £52.00 for the week I was there including holiday and a tax rebate...they said that they overpaid me the month before.

However they sent me a payslip that says NET PAY £471.00.

Am I right to think that they owe me some money?

If there were deductions made, shouldn't it show on the payslip?

They are refusing to pay me.

  2. Wow, that's a rather large deduction.  Usually, for working two days, I get a net pay of $144, and end up with $122.  It also depends (in the US) how you fill out your tax form.  Such as how many people you say you provide for.  The more you put, the less they take out, decreasing the chance you'll get money back at tax time, as opposed to paying in.  The less you put, the more they take out, increasing your chances of getting money back at tax time.  I have never heard of 8/9ths of your paycheck being deducted though.  I would definitely talk to your employer to see what's up.  If he/she doesn't give you a reasonable answer tell him/her, "Ok, well thanks for helping, I'll see if my lawyer/accountant can help me sort this out."  Maybe that will scare him/her in to paying you the money he/she has stolen.
