Ah..... I think I'm going crazy! Just last year I started seeing ghosts manifest themselves to me when I wake up in the middle of the night..... I always wake up at the same time in the middle of the night and then every other day I see a transparent being stand right beside my bed.. And they're different every time! Once it was an old man and this other time it was a tall bald man, then it was a little girl and a boy, and then yesterday it was this tall man with a long face. They're all transparent and between the colors green and white. Their bodies aren't very detailed and I can't see them that well.. ( im near sighted ) but when I close my eyes I see their face perfectly! What is this?! And today I heart noises it sounded like wind but like a voice at the same time because it echoed.. I don't know what to do!!! I'm scared to death of ghosts they're my worst fear.. I'm not sure if I'm hallucinating! I've talked to my parents and they won't listen! please spare some advice.

  1. Distrust anything unusual you see right before sleep, during sleep or right after sleep.  It's possible your brain is still dreaming when you see these ghosts.  It's possible you aren't waking up at all, but only think you are.  It's possible you have sleep paralysis (look that one up).

  2. Turn the TV off...or see a doctor. Ghosts do not exist.

  3. This is a wind-up, right?

The difference between you and me is that I can make up a far more convincing story.

  4. Here is a very serious answer. Your story shared something in common with the vast majority of ghost reports here on Yahoo Answers -- you saw these apparitions during the sleeping hours. Why do so many people see ghosts during this time? I think the vast majority of these reports, if not all, can be explained by the simple fact that the human mind is in a bit of a confused state when transitioning from waking to sleep or vice versa. You were likely dreaming these occurrences and interpreting them as real after the fact.

This explanation should put you at ease. Don't worry, there is very poor evidence that spirits even exist, and there is no evidence that anybody has ever been harmed by a ghost or spirit.

  5. this is interesting, scientists have a theory that seeing ghosts is caused by the earth's electromagnetic fields mixed with frequencies from our technology such as TVs that can cause up to 80% of people, depending on how sensitive they are, to have hallucinations and feel/see presences that don't exist. They found this in a lab after hooking people up to electromagnetic equipment. I found out about it in the book Spook by Mary Roach, but it seems the most logical reason for "ghosts".

Anyway, you alone know what you saw, you're not going crazy, there's probably an explanation like that. if your house is over an electromagnetic field it doesn't necessarily mean your parents will experience these weird things, because fields are often limited to a small space. which is why hauntings seem to occur in only certain places, like a room of a hotel, or a section of a castle.

Who knows though, maybe science can't explain everything and there are ghosts... but it is unlikely. You could write into an online ghost hunters society, and get their opinion on it, but chances are, there's a scientific explanation and you can sleep easier knowing that.

  6. The first thing is don't over react.  You are not being harmed, so I would say you won't be harmed.  I do find it interesting that you are sleeping during every occurrence.  This almost definitely points to the fact that you may still be dreaming.  Your fear of seeing these ghosts may also be feeding the fire.  If you anticipate it enough, your mind will make it happen.  Consider this, though.  If you can see them, then they can be caught on camera.  Place a camera in your room for a few nights.  I realize that this may not be practical, but will give definitive results.  If you see the ghosts, then review the tape and see if you caught it on tape.  I think this will prove one way or another what is going on.  If you catch something on tape, then it is time to consider a paranormal investigator.  If you don't catch anything on tape, then rest easy.  It is only your imagination.  I hope this helps.

  7. I cannot tell you if what you see is your imagination or not, but I do know a lot of people get scared and find that they can hardly talk to anyone about it...

Have a look at the website of TAPS (maybe you know them from the tv as well)

They have a section where you can chat to get help dealing with thing like this.

The link to chat with someone who might be able to help you is:

    http://www.starchat.net/chat/index.php?c...

    The link for TAPS is:

    note:

the Chat I mentioned and other contact info, including a forum can be found on the left hand side under "Communicate"

    Good luck!

  8. I'M SERIOUS.  Have you seen scary movies lately?  Also, I can't tell if ghost are real or not.  But you should NOT SEE THIS MOVIE OF A GIRL SEEING GHOSTS AND ITS SCARY ACORDING TO SOME KIDS. THE MOVIE IS CALLED ANDREA.

  9. hmmm...interesting..try having someone else you know see if they themselves can see the ghosts, and decide from there, if its just you.

Perhaps you also have somthing bothering you making you hallucinate or something..

  10. It is possible that you may have a hormone imbalance that is causing this.

I read somewhere that dopamine could be the culprit behind this phenomena of seeing and hearing things that are not there.

I am also including a link below from Newsweek that is interesting reading.

Another key bit of information that you included is that you see them during sleep times.  This would tell me that it is highly possible that you are still in a sleep type state and your mind is playing tricks on you.

There really is no evidence that there is even a such thing as ghosts, so you need to look at a more logical explanation, which it appears that you are doing.

If this causes you a lot of trauma, you may can consult with a psychologist about it.  I know of someone who was having a problem with visual hallucinations and it helped them.

Try not to over react, as you would be reacting to something that most likely does not exist.

You might also try posting this on the Psychology forum, and see what answers you get there.

  11. Since none of them have hurt you, they probably mean no harm. next time ask them what they want and see what happens.

  12. I went into my bathroom and my fish was alive. I looked at him he was definatly alive! I went to the bathroom. Then everything went really blurry, next thing I know my fish is dead!
