Am I short for my age?

I'm 16 and I am 5'5 or 5'6, I don't know for sure. I come from a small family, my dad is about 5'3 or 5'4 and my mom is about the same height. All of my friends were I live are like 6'0 or 6'2, which I feel really small when I stand next to them. I also live in Minnesota, which is land of the Scandinavians. Who are naturally tall people... My older sister who travels quite a bit told me one day that people in other places don't seem to be as tall as they are in Minnesota. And that my height would be more of an average height. I don't travel much, so I don't see people from other places very often. Is she just saying this to make me feel better? or am I really an average height, but I live in a place with a lot of tall people?

nah i ve seen alot shorter at my school who are 15-17 i think ur average

average height is from 5'8 to like 5'10 so your not that short but still short
