Am I smart? Or am I kidding myself?

I'm in 7th grade. In 9th grade classes. I try to do all my work and get good grades. Yet at times when I get homework for example, I use the easy way out. I do most of it, and than call my friends and see if they can help me with the tricky questions. I guess I am being lazy. My best friend is in my classes and we help each other out. We also cheat sometimes on test. Also if we go and review something, I always forget some parts. I guess I'm only a cheater in math class, yet in my other classes it happens sometimes. How can I stop this habit? Am I stupid or just lazy at times? I know for sure I'm not lazy at school, yet homework wise..I'm not sure.

START listening to classical music.

STOP listening to rock & roll.

START reading books.

STOP watching the boob tube.

START hanging out at art museums.

STOP hanging out at the soda fountain.

START dressing in a buttoned-up shirt with a Full Windsor-knotted tie.

STOP dressing with jeans or an untucked shirt.

START eating vegetable such as peas, broccoli, and asparagus.

STOP eating junk like Baked Alaska and Tootsie Rolls.

START new hobbies like astronomy, chess, or learning Latin.

STOP time-wasting hobbies like smoking, cruising, or chatting.

START hanging out with the "David and Rick Nelsons".

STOP hanging out with the "Eddie Haskells".

START going to the teacher after school for additional help.

STOP cheating off your best chum's paper.

If you follow this advice, your mind will become as strong as Charles Atlas and as clear from clutter as a Burma-Shaved face.

ur not stupid or lazy you just need to find some time to study

i know its hard and its boring but thats the only way you will get stuff.

maybe next time you should ask your teacher to sit somewhere where you can't copy off your friend.
