Am I so wrong for wanting national unity

Really, how can we defend our nation or even fix our economy if we remain divided? Republicans and Democrats in the Senate and Congress play childish games to one-up each other, while our economy gets worse by the day. Not to mention the wars drain not only on our economy, but on our very beliefs and foriegn relations. Mixed with a bumbling beuracracy poisoned by lobbyists and dominated by the wills of big business, our country is destroying itself.

As Liberals and Conservatives draw battle lines in an unending war, everyone suffers. Is there any way we are NOT destroying our country by being divided?

We are losing our superpower status, and need to make some drastic changes QUICKLY. We must not hesistate, we must not be posioned by the Media, now it's our time, as AMERICANS.

So, had enough fighting yet?

  1. Well , have you looked at a history book?  You have a nice goal there , but whats happening isn't anything new , its older than you or I and was a around from the beginning of man.  And I personally think that people need to keep quiet about the war thing you dont know how hard it is.  My dad is in the army and you don't know how depressing and just plain old is is to always hear people who sacrifice nothing arguing about the war. I'm not the only one who feels that way.  (and I'm sorry if you do have a close relative in the war)  But you're right to want to fix things.  Its just impossible.  Its nice to think , but impossible.

  2. It's sad, it's the old divide and conquer.

    Seems to work every time.

Look who is falling for it now.

  3. Not in my opinion. (I'm not being biased here) National unity is something, I too, wish we had. It would be nice to have one party, instead of two. If Democrats and Republicans worked together, and looked at both sides of a situation, they might come up with a better answer. There would also be a lot less arguments, fights, violence lies, and so much more, if there was a unity. No one is going to agree with everyone all the time, but I think everyone agrees that prices need to come down. Because of gas and oil and such, everything has gone up. If prices would go DOWN, we could have more unity. Gas would cost less, allowing people to go places more often.(Just saying)

I agree with you when you say the presidential canidates, and Congress,  are playing games to one up each other. If we were more uninted we could do the things both presidents want to do, or not. If not, we could do something better. I also wish we could be more uninted with other countries and contenants. There would definatly be less war, and conflict. But hey, when will this ever happen? The people in power, actually listening to a SMART idea? FUNNY. I know in the Bible, it states we are to obey authority. But not if that authority will cause you to go against God. I think I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. Keep the peace, but do what's right. That's all I can do ... For right now.

  4. Unity would be the best thing for our nation ... but don't look for it in the near future ... people are petty and will stick with this 2 party foolishness until we are all dead .

I'll bet that some of the answers you get will be examples of what I'm saying .

  5. When the other side stops saying things like this:

    we'll talk.

  6. Wrong?  I don think so -- not at all.  The U.S. needs unity like never before.  United goals, united purpose -- United we stand!
