I already have a full-time job. However, I went to an interview for HR supervisor position for a multinational company today.

They asked me to do 6 grade maths without calculator; write completed sentences in Thai and English, choose true and false (The questions are like successful people love money more than power---True or False) Smart students tend to get higher salary than average students--True and False). I did all that :)

Then, they asked me to do words and excel in Thai. I did not expect all these tests. I knew, I will fail this exam because I type Thai extremely slow. Plus, I already knew I failed the 6 grade maths for sure. Therefore, I told them, I am no longer interested in the position and don't want to continue the test.

I was in the middle of the office. I am a naturally loud talker so everyone looked at me. They asked me to sit in the room. The manager still wanted to interview me. We talked for an hour. I told him," I already signed contract with other companies and must work for them at least 3 months. I just went to an interview, but cannot accept the job offers." He is a middle age Thai. He was nice and taugh me a few things." lol

  1. lol, i had an interview the other day for a courier company and the woman interviewing me started raving on how it should be mandatory that young people should learn how to drive manual cars.

  2. I am not sure why you went for the interview if you did not plan on accepting it.  I would have completed the test even if I failed.  It atleast shows your willing to try.  Standing up in the middle of it and quitting, shows you would rather quit than try.  You never know what the reasoning behind a test that an employer is giving.  They may not have even looked at those scores, they might have just wanted to see how you delt with the pressure.  I think you might have over reacted a bit.  Especially if you knew you were not going to accept the job, then failing would not have made a difference.  I would always try to finish everything your given to completion even if your not sure of yourself.  Sometimes you surprise yourself.

  3. Just forget it....it is over and there is nothing you can do about it now.

  4. You may not be stupid, but made yourself look foolish by being loud and trying to walk out in the middle of an interview.  They may also question why you even choose to interview if you were not even seriously looking for a job.
