Question:

Am I the only one upset at new full color ads on my Southwest boarding pass wasting my ink

I can understand airlines taking desperate measures to cut down on the price of fuel by selling ad space on airline tickets, but it is downright ridiculous that I have to print these ads on MY printer using MY ink just to have a valid boarding pass now! They should be paying me for wasting my ink cartridge!

  1. That is pretty lame.  I have never seen this, however, it's not surprising.  There should plenty of room for them to make their 'impressions' onscreen.  I'm sure the fact that you have to be clutching this ad to get on the plane gives all those marketing people a woody.  I hate sales people and their c**p.  They have to be miserable.

Maybe this will cheer you up (hehe it's on my profile) you know that bump in the middle of the runway when you're taking off?  I like to yelp like a dog when we go over it.  That never gets old =)

  2. Well, you DON'T have to.

  3. get a better printer that has a "black only" option.

It's not SWA fault your printer is lousy.

Or just check in and get your pass at the airport. You'll still get your "A" pass even if you don't print it.. I do that often in Texas because my Sister doesn't even have a printer. But you will still get the same boarding assignment as when you checked in on line..

  4. Set your print to black only and reduce quality to fast or draft -- as long as it's good enough for the bar code to scan, that's all you need.
