Am I the only one who dislikes ICL and IPL?

i've seen ICL before, its supposed to be domestic yet they stuff the teams w/ veterans from other countries and old indian players. IPL looks to be the same exact thing but BCCI approved. it doesn't look like its gonna help the careers of any1 except the BCCI producers and the Zee TV executives. Its all about making money. They overstuff player contracts and randomly put in american cheerleaders who cheer whenever any player hits the ball substantially hard. is this what cricket is supposed to be like?

I don't really like 20/T because it doesn't take a lot of skill you just need to know how to smah a ball and be lucky.

But its great entretainment, and right now i think that's what this game is all about, we're trying to get more people in love with cricket.

Of course not! Some outside India (may be in India too) may not even know such tournaments exist.

Yet, most cricket lovers will like one or the other - if not both.

I have a feeling this 20/20 craze is trying to get the non-cricketing nations to participate in the game and - add their worth to the money game.

With some short version of the game and with some glitters around it - they may just succeed!

It's all part of evolution! Love it!

No you are not the only one...I am sick and tiered of hearing about it,the sooner it gets started the sooner it finishes..it is nothing short of a money making disaster....

yes and everyone is entitled to their oppinions and i know there are a few more Aussie's who also think it is bull$hit..

It really is bad when your captain turns around and says he wants a 6 week window because he is scared it is going to stuff up other cricket nations and their own cricket matches...

And for the person asking about English cricket,we Aussies dont care about that because it dos'nt interfere with our cricket here in Australia as we are in Autumn,but the IPL is interfering with the English county cricket....

edit: English premier league is a soccer league not a cricket league.

And i don't understand why people are being so @#$%#$. Football has had leagues for ages now and i don't feel it has degraded. And i personally feel that this is better than international cricket. At least people will not judge the team by the country it represents but by the players it has.

And to the asker, how many ranji matches do you watch??? I don't think anybody in India watches domestic matches with interest.

So wat are deodhar trophy, ranji trophy,etc. Are they foreign tournaments. Why can't our players gain skill from these tournaments???? Cause there are no international players. This is what IPL is giving them. But now you say that they are stuffing foreign players. WTH do you want??? These international players ain't going to do a charity work for Indian Cricket and we need to pay them for it.

ICL and IPL events are like horse races. They have selected horses like Dravid, Sourav and Ponting. They want these horses to run and make money for their owners. Lot of money converts famous cricketers into prostitutes. Hereafter, they are owned by their bosses and play as per the wishes of their bosses who make all the money. The format is that of 20:20 which is like having a 'quickie' in a toilet. ODI cricket is like a one night stand. Test match cricket is an eternal relation. Which one do you like ? I see that these days more and more people need instant gratification and toilet s*x.
