  1. Hillary's going to stab him in the back and wind up getting the nomination. Look, Obama's trailing McCain in the polls, and he's got less experience than our family's mutt. There's very little chance that he'll come away from Denver with the Democrapic nomination.

  2. i also dont think it was wise i think clinton would have brought him lots of votes but i suppose the magic of politics is its lack of predictability

  3. yes cuz obama biden looks so much like osama binladen!

  4. Wow, what a great question.  I haven't seen it posted here in at least the last 10 minutes.

  5. I am as of yet undeclared, but registered Republican. Biden may not be  Republican but atleast he's likeable for a change, unlike Hilary.  And he speaks his mind. I would rather have an elected official who said crude nn-PC things and meant them, than someone who spewed BS and put on a song and dance just to impress people. I am still undeclared, but Biden pushed me closer to the left edge of the fence.

  6. I thought Joe Biden was the best choice for President at the beginning of the Democratic debates. Biden has a lot of experience in government, he has been a member of the senate since 1972. He is a powerful swing vote in NJ Pennsylvania and Maryland. Pennsylvania being one of the swing states this year, he could carry votes becuae that is where he is from. he is a middle of the rode liberal. he has voted agaisnt partial vote abortion, and he has been a part of many homeland security commitees and sub committees. He is one of the most active senators and one of the most well respected in the country. Biden also was the first canadite this year to come up with a plan to remove the US's forces from iraq.

Hilary Clinton on the other hand is an interest group funded ultra liberal target for the GOP. She in the mid 1990's was one of the most vocal about universal health care, now most of her money comes from Pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies. Plus the Clintons are done. After Bill's affair the Clinton's have lost respect for most republicans, what little they had before. if Hilary was Obama's running mate she would just bring him down.

Biden and Obama is a dynamic ticket. A 60+ year old guy and a young hot shot ready to change the world. The idea that I think is behind this is that it will give white middle class Americans more of a reason to vote for him. Biden will also swing some moderate or conservative independents that are afraid to vote for the old guy. Foreign Affairs for Biden is something that he has been involved in for many years. This gives the people a sense of safety with biden. Clinton would have been a mistake. Bill clinton stopped some military funding during his administration, and some people did not forgive him for that after 9-11. With Obama and Biden there will be more promises to create a stronger military. This takes away the wuss punch from the GOP.

From a political point of view this is a great choice for Obama, he needed a middle aged white man. Something comfortable for the baby boomers. It's all about votes and Hilary would have gave him certain votes but not the ones needed to win this election.

  7. You're not the only one, but I don't think it's an issue to most people.  Biden is incredibly capable and an exceptional American.  Hillary will always run for the party first if she doesn't have an angle.

People keep forgetting that it would be catastrophic if she forced a vote for her to be President.  She knows it could cause the party to implode in a way that would take decades to recover from.

  8. I think it was a good chose by Obama. I remember watching the debate for the Democratic primaries and outside of Obama and Clinton, Joe Biden was the other Democrat that stood out to me.

I think Biden is a good chose, to me his strengths are in arias that  Obama is lacking in. I belive Biden will work extremely well with Obama.

And honestly, after the race Clinton and Obama had I would have been disappointed in Clinton if she would have become his V.P. To me Clinton is a President not a V.P. She is too strong a personality to be put in that roll.

I glad Clinton had the pride in herself not to settle for V.P.

  9. Even Fox News claimed that NObama make a big mistake not picking Hillary for his VP.

However, if I was Hillary, I wouldn't want to be his VP after being called a typical white woman.

  10. Abso freaking lutely.  I was hoping he'd choose Hilary.  I'm voting for McCain, now.  We're in a real clusterbuck now.  I'm heading outside to wish on a shooting star...........

  11. This whole election is a charade.

  12. neither of these choices would have been a mistake. a lot of clinton supporters are angry right now but hopefully they will realize by november that a obama biden ticket is better than mccain and whomever.

  13. That depends on your definition of mistake.  If the extra votes he would have gotten from it are the difference in the election (minus the people who can't stand Hillary who would have voted Obama) then it cost him the presidency.

Arguably though, his presidency could have been made worse by having both Bill and Hillary in the White House taking away from his presidential legacy.

  14. Clinton would have hurt him even more... She is worse than Obama and together they would be h**l!!!

Plus if Obama got elected with her as the VP, she would probally try and get rid of him so she could become the President.

  15. It should be at least one requirement here that participants demonstrate at least basic knowledge of political strategy etc.

    Why?

    Well, I'll tell you...

Have you ever considered the possibility that Obama asked Hillary at Diane Feingold's house before the the VP consultative process and Hillary said 'no'?

  16. I also wish that Obama would have picked Clinton a his VP.  I do think this could be a problem.  He would have had more guaranteed votes had he picked her.  However, do not give up on Obama just because Hill didn't get to be his running mate.  We must make sure lucifer, I mean McCain does NOT get in office.  I mean really who wants another Bush in office?  Please give Obama your support anyway!!!

    Anyone care to answer mine?

  17. clinton was never a choice.

  18. He made a colossal mistake and will pay for it by losing the election. Since he wasn't smart or wise enough to pick her as his running mate, I think he is too stupid to be President.

Gore didn't want Bill Clinton to campaign for him and he lost.

Kerry didn't take Bill Clinton's advice and he lost.

Obama didn't take Hilliary as his running mate and he will lose.

Is it racist that Yahoo Spell checker doesn't recognize "Obama"?

  19. I think he made a big mistake to not at least PRETEND he was considering Hillary!

  20. I think picking Biden was a mistake. I don't know if I agree with the Obama and Clinton thing though.

  21. Biden has been called "loose lips" for a long time.  3 Months should be plenty of time for him to tell the truth not what they want us to hear.

  22. I think it will get him less votes.  I'm not a fan of Biden, but I still refuse to vote republican, I mean our poor country is such a MESS right now.  I only worry if something happens to Obama.  Clinton would have been the better choice.

  23. No, I was hoping hed pick Hillary,  of course Im a woman, but I think she has experience and I think shes a good person

  24. if obama picked hilary, hilary would probably hire someone

to shoot obama just so she could be prez.

    hahahaha

  25. i don't believe an obama/clinton ticket would have been a wise political choice for obama.  it remains to be seen how biden will do, but he certainly brings a wealth of experience to the ticket.  he also has something of a reputation as a pit bull, so may be able to more aggressively go after repub sleaze while leaving obama in his preferred position above the sleaze fray.  while i highly respect obama's aversion to dirty politics, the stuff from the mccain campaign stinks to high heaven.  the voters seem willing to swallow the swill.  despite what people say, they appear to respond to negative campaigning so i think the dems need to go on the offensive.  sounds like biden might be the man.

  26. I think it was a mistake and we shall all see.

    fs

  27. clinton did not want the job and that is why she was not appointed

  28. Yes.

Biden ends the argument that he's inexperienced, has no clue on foreign affairs, and is soft.  All of which biden is not.

  29. h**l no. Obama made a huge mistake. Instead of truely promoting change and picking a popular figure with good ideas not nessesarily in his party oh say Ron Paul. He goes after the safe bet the guy his party wanted him to pick. Blo Biden. Mr. RIAA. Mr. PatriotAct. Mr. FBIcandonowrong. I makes me sick. This CHANGES nothing. He wants to appease the right so much that he grabs the most conservative b*****d he can find yet the neocons won't be swayed. McCain can now pick up the Hillary contingent by gtting a female VP but he wont because like Obama he a party puppet and will stick with Mit.

  30. Yes.  Clinton has too much baggage and she was the candidate the cons craved.  The cons wanted to run against Clinton.  Now they'll have to run on issues and their records instead of just smearing Clinton.

    I'd say they're doomed.

  31. Clinton didn't want to be his running mate. He ruled her out a while ago because of her lack of interest in being on the ticket with him.
