Question:

Am I the only one who thinks Repubs are throwing away this race on purpose?

Okay, so lets be real. We have John McCain who is not by any standard, the best the Republicans have to offer. We also have a VP pick who is a virtual unknown, picked on a whim, with some very extreme views on social and economic issues that many Americans (in light of the current State of our Nation), will not agree with.

On the other side we have a democratic candidate and running mate that prides themselves on evoking change as soon as they get to Washington. We also have a nation full of...sorry I'm going to say it..idiots...or people who aren't as knowledgeable about how economics works.

Put all that together and what I get is a Republican party that is purposefully throwing away this election, so that the Dems can take the heat in 4 years when nothing substantial is accomplished. A common sense minded person will know that we didn't get in the mess in 4 years, so we wont get out of it in 4 years..but not all people have common sense.

I think the Repubs are going to come back in 4 years and attempt to position themselves as saving the country from the big bad Dems who didn't do anything they promised in 2008. They're smart..they've made a mess and plan to leave the mess for the Dems to "attempt" to clean up. Later, they'll come back and blame the whole thing on the Dems.

They do of course have to put on the show...and make it seem as if they're putting forth an effort....Enter Guliani, Lieberman and Thompson.

  1. Very well put, and looks to be a true statement of what could be taking place. The best thing to happen, would be 4 years and out. The now Bush within his first 4 years hadn't done that much damage, his second 4 years have been like a car moving along without brakes. The Repubs can say whatever they need to say about the great President, but who is he really interested in helping, not the average American people, when it comes to loan companies, gas/oil  corporations, the list goes on. He won't have to deal with the mess soon, but he will have to live with it.

Sarah has big ideas, but forgets she was involved with a small amount of people to deal with, in state/government affairs. There's  that saying, seen and not heard, Sarah will be doing just that. Those big boys in Washington aren't going to let anyone like Sarah with all her talking to be involved in taking their rewards away, if McCain and she makes it to the White House.

  2. yeah, you're the only thinking that.....

tks for the 2 pts now go back to your basement.

  3. I think McCain was upset because couldn't select Lieberman so he chose someone who would upset the pack.

However his choice may cost his the presidency.

  4. That has been my contention since Palin was named as McCain's running mate.  Essentially, I feel that they propped a sacrificial lamb up with McCain so that, when they lose, they won't lose much in their attempt to go for the White House in 2012.  mcCain will be too old by then and Palin will be a footnote in History books (unless, of course, Palin wants to burn History books as well).

  5. I think it took the GOP more than 4 years to do this much damage and most americans know it will take more than 4 years to fix the mess.

  6. No, I do not think the Republican party is "trying" to lose.  And I hope to God, for the good of this country, that they do not lose this election.

And you think maybe Obama IS the best that the Democrats had to offer?  Let me tell you only ONE reason I will not vote for  Obama.  The Democrats, over the years, have passed over some very fine, very qualified black men as presidential (or even VICE presidential) candidates, only to settle upon this arrogant, insipid creature for one reason and one reason only....they became so very enamored with themselves for nominating a black man to show how "progressive" they are, and they realized this is the best chance they are going to get to get him elected, simply because of Bush's administration.

Well, the Democrats on THIS site have shown how progressive they are by asking should Sarah Palin stay home and take care of her family, simply because she is a woman and without asking the same about Obama...he has young children, too, you know.

They've shown what a clean campaign they are running by attacking a defenseless teenager.

And they have shown how incapable they must think their candidate REALLY is by constantly and repeatedly trying to compare their number 1 candidate with the opposing party's number 2 choice.

    Real smart.

It is choices, tactics, smears, and attitudes like that that have wrested me from a lifelong habit of voting straight Democratic tickets.  The Democratic party no longer represents ANYTHING I grew up believing was right and proper.

And I think that if you believe Obama has any idea how economics "works",  then your descriptive phrase is also a self-descriptive phrase.

  7. I agree with rdwain20...   I think she is by far the best choice he could have made.  I know a lot of people who were kind of undecided but will definitelly vote for McCain now (myself included).  Choosing someone like Lieberman would have alienated a whole lot of conservatives, and you don't seem to remember 2000 and 20004... there are a lot of us out there who want a real conservative for change.  Maybe Bush wasn't the best choice (but still better than Kerry).  If Sarah is a genuine conservative person, I'll vote for her any day over some screwed up socialist.

  8. They even hire Liberal speakers

  9. not at all.. I think they will have a pretty easy victory in november.
