  1. I wouldn't say they're the most thrilling...

...But I do agree they are indeed underrated. I remember WCW used to emphasize that in a lot of their matches years before they folded, and it makes it even more interesting when the one-minute warning is given in them. Most people, though, probably wouldn't find that stipulation that interesting, though, especially since a lot of matches barely exceed ten minutes on television.

  2. Time limit matches are good, such as "Beat the Clock" or the Ironman Match, but are generally good matches, but for different reasons..

In the Beat the Clock scenario, it is only good if you put two wrestlers of the same caliber in every match.  Also, it gives the wrestler with an "out-of-nowhere" finisher the advantage.  Compare the time it takes to set up a "Pedigree" compared to a "SuperKick", a "Sleeper-Hold" to a "Diamond Cutter"... Also, the last wrestler in the event has the best advantage, as he knows what time he has to beat.

The IronMan match shows not only how smart a wrestler is, but his endurance & stamina as well.  The classic of this match will always be the "Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart" match, for obvious reasons.  But, Look back at an edition of SmackDown & check out the "Kurt Angle/Brock Lesnar" Ironman match.  Brock showed he could outthink & outmaneuver in that match by giving up a fall to get three falls.  Sounds confusing, but watch the match & you will see what I mean.

That so-called "Adamle Original" with JBL/Punk/Jericho was not original, it happened because Adamle was dumb enough to let the main event take place with only 10 minutes left of airtime on the program, that is why the time-clock was thrown in, because they had no choice.

The time limit stipulations make for great suspense, as the case with the Royal Rumble & the (NWA's) WarGames, because it builds up anticipation for what is going to happen next.  But, for whatever reason, they are completely under-used in tv & ppv events.

  3. I LOVE them. I think you're absolutely right. The JBL/Punk match was good because you kept looking at the clock and also making sure your guy didn't get pinned. When JBL managed to fall on Punk at around four seconds and get the three count in the last three seconds, I was going crazy! I'm NOT even remotely close to being a Jelly Belly Layfield fan. He's annoying, but the fact that it happened in the last three seconds like that is what got me lol.

Anyway, I think Mike Adamle is going to start bringing in a few more of those matches. They're great!

  4. Yeah, time limit matches are really great & exciting to watch but we won't see a lot of them.I hope we see much of those matches in WWE though!

  5. Time limit matches are awsome, I'm seriously looking forward to the ones at Unforgiven, Their going to kick @ss, that's for sure

  6. yeah cos its bound to have excitment heading towards the end!

wwe only make exciting matches when they can be botherd

  7. i love time limts matches

  8. Maybe not the best matches but they are definitely great and probably the most underused

My favorite matches are the infero or burned alive match or whatever its called

  9. I love time limit matches and they are under rated and under used they should use them more often.
