Am I the only person in Townsville, Australia who turned lights off for earth hour?

As planned, I turned the lights off, lit a candle on the patio and then took the dogs for a walk along the beach. All the street lights were on, most of the houses were lit up and I asked a few people I met along the boardwalk (which is a sidewalk) if they were there for earth hour and they hadn't heard of it. Oh oh, we're not going to stop global warming that way are we? I guess more publicity is needed next year. Hope you guys in N. America do it - there's still time for you to plan your evening - ours is finished.

Wait a minute. You lit a candle and left it unsupervised? You're lucky it didn't burn your home down. Next time just turn the lights out and leave. Carry a tiki lamp if you must.

I am born in Australia but I live in Hong Kong now. I 'm going to switch off my lights tomorrow ! Tomorrow is Saturday :)

Yeah, tomorrow is the go.  A couple of the capital cities are doing big events and quite a few people probably will in Townsville.  I've noticed that it hasn't got much press (and I even live in one of the cities doing big events).
