I like it I have more channels and the picture is better. My only complaint would be that 2 of my local sations will not start broadcasting in digital until november.

  1. There are a lot of people who are not upset.  They just don't ask questions on Yahoo Answers so you only hear from the ones with concerns.

Change is difficult for many people.  They will get used to it.

  2. People are only mad because they don't understand what is happening.  It will only affect people who still use antennas.  And really who cares about them anyway.

  3. No, your not!!! I am!!!!

But dont believe everything they say. Most people dont even have to do anything, they are just tricking us into paying money for something we dont need!!!

UGGGGHHH!!! I hate advancing in technology!!! Well, only when I have to pay to get something new! ;)

  4. Alomost everyone is being inconvenienced by this change.  Until now, it seems that the FCC almost always made changes to be compatible with the origional TV system:  Color TV, Stereo Sound, Surrrond Sound, etc.  This change is annoying just like the changing of the time twice a year. Why can't they split the difference (1/2 hour) and leave it alone after that?

Also forcing people to change to ugly, sickly looking, mercury containing flourescant lights is another irritating thing done that makes us feel that we are not being represented by empathy leadership in Congress and the Senate.

Many of my connecting cables that I have used for analog TV don't seem good enough for Digital TV and need to be replaced with more premium cables at added expense.

  5. Hi,

Of course that the USA are far more advance than Portugal in terms of digital tv and namely high definition, which we still don't have (not from portuguese broadcasters with maybe a few exceptions).

I have triple play (TV, Net and Phone) through the router (terrestrial (sp?), not satellite, although it's also available).

I'm satisfied because I have more channels, I have video on demand (although I only used once or twice) and the image is good.

The only bad thing that I see coming from this is that there will be alots of pay per view and the poorest people won't be abble to access it.

I think that there must be conditions to permit the poorest people to access those programs.

    Kind regards,

  6. There is more wrong with digital than that.  How about the harsh flashing the digital switcher causes.  It causes eyestrain and anxiety.  Digital is not smooth and soft like the old analog video.

Also haven't you noticed the jerkiness when something is moving fast.  With the old analog TV things move smoothly, with digital everything moves in jerks.  Be thankful the thing has an off button.
