Am I too late to claim my tax credit?

I had a baby in October last year. Stupidly I still haven't claimed my tax credits. I've just heard that there was a deadline of July 31st. Am I now too late to claim for my tax credits? Or was this deadline for people wishing to RENEW their tax credit applications? I am still yet to put my original application in...

If I can still put my application in, will I still get my backdated payments?

Incredibly dumb of me to leave it this long but panicking now...

No you can claim now and get it back dated 3 months

want some advice (pretend u claimed in October ) then u will be entitle to back pay dated till back then .. xx

make out like u sent back form after form .. phone them .. make out like Ur fuming u will get all the back pay .. why not u payed tax for all these illegal frigging immigrants xx xx

edit// you will get everything backdated but u need to fib abit.
