  1. no you are not too old! if you don't do it now, you'll only end up regretting it. go for it!! xx

  2. no of course not.. youre never too old to do anything... i say go for it!

  3. depends what you want to do with it when you get it.  I think you should because apart from it preventing your brain from becoming rusty, it will give you a sense of achievement. I work for my self and I employ a lady who decided to do just the same at 50.  She is  now the proud owner of a first degree and I am very proud of her.  I think it has changed her for the better and has given her the confidence she needed.

  4. Are you kidding???  If you want to do it, and can afford it, don't let anything stop you!   :)

  5. Mature students usually make better students because they are more focused and less distracted by the temptations that the young succumb to.

You may find that that some of your fellow students are a little immature and thus a little annoying. If you can put up with that then go for it.

  6. Your never to old go for it girl

  7. nope, as long as you are willing to learn new things you will never be too old.

  8. No mature students are very common at my university and are still very intelligent people. If you have A levels or an equivalent qualification why not study in higher education. I mean you can get grants/loans and all the benefits of students discounts. You'll be 55 when you graduate and still have 10-14 years in a good job.

  9. Absolutely not!  I attend comm. college w/ a lot of "non-traditional" students, of which I am one.

They way I look at it, I tried it 11 years ago and my kids were in school.  I had a full time job and all the duties of home and owning our own business and it was just too much.

Now, they're all grown and out of school.  I have paid my dues and now it's time for me to do what "I" always wanted to do.  I'm more settled and grounded now and find that the courses are actually easier, as I'm not distracted by everyday "life".

Go for it! And good luck!!

  10. no way!! there's a man on my course in his late 60s, he's really cool.

  11. No.

  12. No, I finished my degree last year (42) and on my course I was one of the youngest. You are never too old.

  13. nope... as long as your mind is still sharp any university would want to have you

  14. No, definitely not. My brother retired at age 55 after working for a company for 35 years. He went to college at age 56, was at the top of his class, and when he graduated he received the Humanitarian Award. Shortly after, he got a great job that fitted his needs perfectly. It was in the computer field; his hours were flexible, he could work at home and the office and most important of all, it was a job that he enjoyed and found challenging. It was a good balance - he worked reasonable hours and had plenty of time to spend with his family and friends.

Personally, I wouldn't thing twice about going back to college if I wanted to and was interested in something - no matter what age I was.  You should absolutely do it!  By the way, you are 52 years young - a great age to be; old enough to know who you are and what you really want from life and young enough to go after it!

  15. No there is no age limit. Many OAPs study because they have the time to do it.
