  1. no never to old

  2. not that all. i do like tae kwon do.so, u had better to learn it. anyway  i learned tae kwon do when i was 21. and don't do it in a halfway.

  3. No!!

You are not too old ( by a long shot ) and the world is your oyster whichever style you choose young man err I wish I could swap ages with you :P

    Best wishes :)***

  4. You have to be 12 I think to get you black belt, but you're never too old, parents do it. But you have to be serious about it, because they don't like you to quit half way.

  5. The age that you shouldn't do Martial Arts is age 65 or if you have back problems or any problems. 20 is considering young age for almost everything.

  6. i am in the same exact place as you are!  i'm eighteen and looking to start taking martial arts classes (again).  a few years ago i started taking them and got somewhat far, but it became too much of a business and lost all of its personal value.  so my advice to you in looking for a school is to search for one that doesn't put making money in front of sincerely teaching the martial arts.  i understand people need to make money, but the martial arts were not intended to be an item to be sold.  choose your school wisely and i will do the same.  good luck.

  7. Nope.  You are not too old.  I like Tae Kwon Do.

  8. My advice. Go for it, Your never to old and a man's physical peek is early twenties so you have no reason not to

  9. You're never too old to learn something new!  Many people in our age group actually start learning martial arts as part of military training, for example.  Just think about that when you're taking your first class!

  10. nah your not too old

kung fu - if you like to be one with the wind and move like a grasshopper

karate - if you like to brek things

tae kwon do - if you can kick ALOT

i hope you dont end up like this though

  11. You still young enough to learn new things,

Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do seem pretty cool

  12. LOL 20 years old!!!! I got back into martial arts at 35. I don't think you are too old. I wish I would have got in and stayed in at that age.

  13. You are not too old!

There is no best style. It is a matter of personal preference. There are better students and teachers. Do your homework on your local schools. Don't join one until you discover which is better for you that you can afford, Which will help you reach your goals.

    Have fun!

    Good luck,

  14. One is never to old to learn anything...little "grasshopper"

  15. Your to old.

  16. Did Tae Kwon Do for about 2 and a half years.

It was alright, not for me though.

    Anyway with your question, sure

there was a guy who was 69 years old

Your flexibility and reflexes will make it easier to rise through

    the belts

  17. no

  18. 20.....that isn't even starting to get old, so yeah you are plenty fine on learning martial arts. For that matter at only 20 you have plenty of time to learn a couple styles if you wanted to.

As for which one, the instructors and school matter more than the style or art.

First get a good idea in your head as to what you want to learn, then start checking out local schools. Most will be happy to let you sit in on classes or even taking a few for free to get a feel for what they do and how they go about doing it.

All martial arts have their place and can be vary good for you, but it is up to you to check out schools and see what you like the best and what you will actually stay with.

Tae Kwon Do is primarily a kicking art.

Kung Fu is a generic term that has been slapped on Chinese martial arts, but actually has nothing to do with martial arts. There are several good Chinese martial arts each with their own approach to things, some concentrate more on punches others more on kicks, some more on fighting in close others more from the outside.

Karate again a generic term and not a direct reference to an individual style, just more of a Japanese/ Okinawan martial art designation. Again many different styles and each with their own approach.

Check out some local schools and just be honest with the instructors about what you are doing, they will understand and be fine with it.

    Best of luck!!

  19. omg no my dad learned when he was like 37. lol u have alot of time ur 20 thats YOUNG!

  20. There Will Always be time. its never too late to learn martial arts. it is especially easy for you because of your abilities.

Kung Fu is the coolest but hardest to learn it takes focus and determination to properly learn Kung Fu

Tea Kwon Do is a very popular sport and is in the Olympic games. it is mostly kicking than punching. it also has part where you learn to defend against weapons such as knives and baseball bats.

Karate is also fairly popular It is primarily a striking art using punching, kicking, knee and elbow strikes and open-handed techniques such as knife-hands and ridge-hands.
