Am I too old to run the 100m (Track & Field)?

I'm 23. I've been a runner for as long as I can remember- but I run long distances (marathons). I've been told I have the height and build of a sprinter (tall and long legs)- I never really considered it because I just concentrated on getting my degree. Now that I've finished school- I'm still itching to get into track & field.

Am I too old? I'm pretty fit (although I did gain a few pounds during college, but as a runner, I know how easy that is to burn off). I'm also a pretty fast untrained sprinter (keyword untrained).

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

  1. hey you dont know till you try!

you will have to work on your fast-twitch fibers since you will have less of those because of distance training

    good luck
