Am I too old to wear a belt round my waist?

I'm 34 years old and a size 12/14. I am curvy with a slim waist. I like the look where a waist belt is worn over a top or dress but am I too old for this fashion? I am usually quite trendy and like fashionable clothes but I have seen a lot of young girls wearing this look so am worried I may look silly'(?)

I'm just a little older than you, and I don't see anything wrong with it. They make women's clothing with a belt around them so I don't think it's just a teen fashion thing. Wear what you like, and what makes you comfortable! If you ever watch "What Not to Wear" they say to accentuate the smallest part of your waist, with either some ruching or a belt or something.  edit-she's not talking about a belt around her pants, she's talking about that trend where you wear a belt around your shirt, which just goes to prove if you live long enough, you can see a trend that you used to do in high school come back into fashion!

No, not at all silly, I am 37 and my teenage daughter often borrows my clothes and vice versa, it's not as if you want to wear silver hot pants with a boob tube now is it?!

As long as it doesn't have a big spangly buckle with "Hot Babe" emblazoned across the front then you should look great.

No, wear what you want to. You're still in your early 30s you should be dressing trendy. For women your age its good to wear a chiffon blouse, a high waisted pencil skirt and a big black patent belt with some high heels. Trust me I've seen How To Look Good Naked and Gok Wan made a woman in her 40s look good with the waisted belt trend.

you should definitely wear it, so what your 34 i don't think that's old. You don't have to wear it over a dress only. Now people get thin belts and wear it over their jackets or cardigans. It's in style and cute!
