Am I too skinny??...?

I just found out hat I'm in the 17th percentile for my bmi. I'm a 15 year old girl. Am I too skinny?

  1. don't worry about it. i'm 15, and im on the 3rd percentile for my age. just try to eat as healthy as possible, do some physical activity, and your body will take care of itself. it is good you are concerned about your health and want to be a healthy weight, but dont become preoccupied by it. you have a perfect weight, im guessing your slim, but not too skinny at all.

  3. don't pay any attention to this sort of fad, leave that up to your doctor to think about, it's these sort of fads that can cause eating disorders. there is nothing wrong with you so long as you are eat healthy and exercise regularly. just enjoy being a teenager and not worrying about stuff that you don't need to think about till your about 30 odd!  

  4. You're o.k.  A healthy weight percentile is between 5th and 85th.  Don't worry so much.

  5. I was very skinny like that too, up until I hit about 16 or 17; now I'm at a normal, healthy weight, and live a healthy lifestyle with no problems. Most BMI charts only take into account height and weight, and cannot consider your unique circumstances. You're a growing young girl and often, when young people grow taller in height it takes a while to put on enough weight to account for the extra inches you have grown in a relatively short amount of time. You shouldn't worry, but if it is a major concern for you, consult your family doctor. When I was around your age, my doctor had advised me to eat certain foods to help put on some weight, and yours should be able to give you some insightful advice too.
