Question:

Am I using Oxiclean Correctly?

I am trying to get a couple of stains out of four shirts with Oxi Clean but it doesn't seem to be working. First I followed the directions of the pre-treating formula (mix one scoop with 16 oz/2 cups of water then rub in and let sit for 10 minutes then wash) but that didn't work and now I am soaking all four shirts in about 2 gallons of cold water with 4 scoops in my washing machine and its been about an hour and it hasn't done anything. Am I doing something wrong? And is it safe to soak them in my washer?

Thanks in advance!

  1. I tried Oxyclean once and I found it to be a waste of money. Doesn't perform as advertised.

  2. My husband of 30 years lovingly calls me the "Stain-Queen."

    1) Cold water doesn't remove squat.  You HAVE to use HOT water to get any stain out.

    2) If something is machine washable and it fits inside your washer, it's safe to be in there.  Now, don't put your suede jacket in the washer, but for "normal clothes," soaking is great.

    3) If your stain is on a white item, put it in the washer with hot water.  Let it soak with normal laundry detergent and some oxi-clean.  Let soak for an hour or two.  If it doesn't all come out, try again, and then wash.
